Warrenton, VA: Old Town Trees and Beyond

Warrenton is the county seat of Fauquier County, Virginia, a town of about 10,000 people 22.8 road miles and 36 minutes north of Culpeper, where US-15, US-17, US-29 and US-211 meet. It began as a trading post called the Red Store, incorporated January 5, 1810, and took the name of General Joseph Warren.

Old Town has been a National Register district since 1983, and at about 643 feet it sits higher than Culpeper. As the biggest town we serve, the work is town work: century-old oaks and poplars over brick homes and narrow Old Town streets, and maples, pines and Leylands in newer areas. Warrenton has its own code, so street trees go through the town office. We drive up the highway from Culpeper; we are not a Metro DC company driving down it.
