Local & Insured
Richardsville is a village in the far eastern corner of Culpeper County, Virginia, 17.6 road miles and 33 minutes out by Route 3 and county roads, on the neck between the Rapidan and the Rappahannock. Settled in the early 1800s, it held many of Virginia's gold mines that century, and troops passed through during the Civil War.
Mining left old pits in thick woods of white oak, chestnut oak and hickory, big poplars in the hollows, sycamore and red maple on both rivers, and pine on every abandoned field. Much of our work here is opening a yard or drive, not one tree. It is our slowest drive, but still Culpeper County, so no trip charge.

Removal, stumps, trimming and clearing for the wooded lots between the two rivers.

Why a Culpeper Crew Comes to Richardsville
No highway reaches Richardsville, so it is a back-road trip. Danielle groups it with Lignum work so the estimate date stays quick, and there is no trip charge.
Most Richardsville calls are about opening ground: a house site, a drive, a view to the river. Luis runs the mulcher and skid steer, we keep the best oaks, and the brush is chipped on site.
Where the gold mines were, the woods hide pits and spoil heaps. We walk every clearing job first and plan the equipment path so nothing drops into a hole.
Richardsville lies between the Rapidan and the Rappahannock, and Culpeper County requires an erosion plan for clearing in a floodplain regardless of size. We tell you before we quote whether your lot is in one.
No. Richardsville is unincorporated, so the Culpeper County Code applies, and it has no permit for a private tree. Paperwork starts with clearing: 10,000 square feet, or any size in a floodplain, on a 15 percent slope, in a wetland or in the Lake Pelham and Mountain Run Lake watershed. Spring brush piles fall under the 4 PM Burning Law. More in our permits guide.
If a wooded Richardsville lot needs a house site opened or a river-bank sycamore is leaning at the cabin, call or ask for a free estimate. Storm damage gets an answer the same day or the next; routine work is usually booked within a week or two.
