Richardsville, VA: Tree Work in Old Gold Country
Richardsville is a village in the far eastern corner of Culpeper County, Virginia, 17.6 road miles and 33 minutes out by Route 3 and county roads, on the neck between the Rapidan and the Rappahannock. Settled in the early 1800s, it held many of Virginia's gold mines that century, and troops passed through during the Civil War.
Mining left old pits in thick woods of white oak, chestnut oak and hickory, big poplars in the hollows, sycamore and red maple on both rivers, and pine on every abandoned field. Much of our work here is opening a yard or drive, not one tree. It is our slowest drive, but still Culpeper County, so no trip charge.
